UoC part 2

Hai guys...

How was all the fresh, happy, air ?? the noise around ?? the all-time energetic CU people??? 

That smile says it all. Then come on let's move around...

I know you have been observing everything around and might have guessed what the building on the left is. Yeah, that's the "canteen." You may not find the so-called 'delicious food' there. But thinking of the pocket money left and the short distance to walk from the department, this is one of our usual places. One table and 12, 13, 14 chairs around... even the whole department used to assemble here with little or something to eat but plenty to talk. Don't mistake it as a department hangout. All the students and staff, and even the KSRTC drivers and conductors (yeah we do have KSRTC services to and from the university mornings and evenings)  hangout here. Evenings with a glass of hot tea is wonderful. Just the tea time is more than enough for the students' trap to be filled with people. What's the matter?? oh! yeah, Students' trap... That's the name given to this place. Literally, it is a trap... where students get trapped in fun and even really serious conversations. Every day here is like meeting new people and getting to know them or catching up with friends and spending time(without even realizing how time has passed). 

Move on...  I'll take you to the park, it might be open by now as it is open only after 4pm. We should get out before the siren because it's the worst, the mood killer, the killer of all the peace that the park holds. Of course, the park is the one you see before you. Don't you remember the yellow flowers I mentioned? you can see beds of them inside.

Now...

The best thing I can do is stay silent and let u walk in peace. Enjoy all the beautifully pruned plants( all credits to the gardeners).  The slide, swings everything are meant for the children, but who can resist a swing? So obviously, that's why you see those big kids on them😉. It's so much fun seeing little kids playing around. The park is always a happy place with all those bright flowers smiling and swaying happily. Take your own time and let's walk around and breathe in happiness...With all the fresh happy air, let's get out...

 This is the circle...with people around... This is the assumed center of the university, from where you have roads that diverge into various places. Let's walk to the left, the road that takes us to the village named Villunnial( is it really a village? you decide it yourself). Yes, you are right that's the Department Student's Union office. Almost all the Science departments are on this side of the university, as you can read the boards. You see that board reading Botany? This is again one of our favourite spots. There is nothing so special about this place, but the nights here were the best. Birthdays, food, fun, ghosts and songs...that's what this place is for us. 

Walk along...

Now, this is the Botanical garden( from the cactus house to the jungle path). You need special permission from the Botany department Hod to get in. But once you are in, it is a whole new world with plants...Trees...Birds... Butterflies... Ponds... Lillies...Frogs...toads...what not? You can even listen to the whisperings of the bamboo reeds here. The Jungle path is a small form of trekking which makes it the most exciting of all. I will take you in, some other time. 

Back to the road... Walk, walk, walk with all those cotton trees on both sides... There that is Villunial, at the end of this road. A temple, a mosque and some shops that's all you can see. That road through the side of the shops takes you to an adventurous spot- The Skywalk. Yes, literally it's a skywalk, a bridge made of iron rods. There aren't any steps to take you up, all you have to do is climb up like monkeys. Care and concentration and courage- the things you should carry with you to climb up. For many reasons, this place is a restricted zone, but it's always fun to break rules.

How about an avil milk(milk and rice flakes mixed with icecream and fruits) from the shop over there? This shop and the avil milk have endless stories to tell beginning from the holiday brunch to the endless cravings.

That one building that you saw on our way is the Basheer's chair. I don't know what that place really is. But it is said that it has many of Vaikkom Muhammad Basheer's photos and other stuff. Anyway, I haven't seen any. But have spent a lot of time here.
